This week, our group was formed and the idea to make a solar still arose. The point of this project is to create something that will allow people in developing countries to create their own clean water. The goals are to make the solar still affordable, effective, and durable. We developed a concept for the project which can be seen below in Figure 1.1.

Basically, with this design, you would fill the still with unclean water. Then, you would let the sun heat it up and the water would evaporate. It would run down the cone and into the collection area at the bottom. The user would then collect the clean water via the tap on the side. With more time, our group plans to improve on our design and make it the best it can be. Three hard working team members can be seen in Figure 1.2.
